Mallard Landing Featured in Business Magazine
May 2006 - Mallard Landing was featured in the May 2006 issue of the Eastern Shores' most prominent business magazine, The Metropolitan. The feature article highlighted many of the amenities offered at Mallard Landing and Lakeside Assisted Living, including photos of the sunroom, gazebo and one of the libraries in the 23,000 square foot clubhouse.
Mallard Landing has won The Metropolitan Magazine's "Best Retirement Community" award each year since it opened.
Montchanin Assisted Living Residence
Receives National Award for Excellence
Assisted Living Federation of America Selects Community For "Best of Home" Award.
WILMINGTON, Delaware – The Assisted Living Federation of America (ALFA) has presented Montchanin Assisted Living Residence at Carillon Crossing with its "Best of Home" award for achieving the highest standards of excellence in design for assisted living communities. Montchanin was recognized not only for its design, but also for its commitment in support of residents’ dignity, privacy, autonomy and spirit.
In selecting Montchanin at Carillon Crossing for the Best of Home award, the ALFA judges evaluated over 60 residences nationwide. According to Cornelia Hodgson, ALFA Jury Chairperson, the Montchanin design was recognized as "achieving the highest standards of excellence, and demonstrating a responsiveness to the unique design needs of assisted living." The community, located in the serene suburbs of northwest Wilmington, will be featured in the May issue of Assisted Living Today, an award-winning publication of the Assisted Living industry.
Montchanin at Carillon Crossing, designed by Art Bernardon & Associates Architects of Kennett Square, PA, is continuing the award-winning tradition of excellence for which each Senior LifeChoice community is known. The Woodbridge, located in Kimberton, PA received the Best of Seniors Housing Award from the National Council of Seniors Housing (NCOSH) in 1997; Carillon Crossing, a retirement community located adjacent to Montchanin, was the recipient of the NCOSH Best Of Seniors Housing Award in 1999.
The newest Senior LifeChoice community, Mallard Landing in Salisbury, Maryland, was recognized by NCOSH with the 1999 Honorable Mention Award for the design of its cottages, condominiums, assisted living and community building.

Carillon Crossing Named
"Best of Seniors’ Housing"
Wilmington, DE March 9, 1999 – Carillon Crossing located on Rockland Road in Brandywine Hundred has received the Merit of Achievement Award for best residential senior community in the country. The National Association of Home Builders National Council on Seniors’ Housing (NCOSH) announced the award at its January convention in Dallas.The award recognizes outstanding accessibility, marketability, affordability and lifestyle.
NCOSH Design Committee Chairman Ken Rohde said, "Carillon Crossing represents the future trend in flexible, consumer driven, full service retirement living." The Carillon Crossing community is comprised of 48 garden-style condominium apartments and the elegant 80,000 square foot assisted living residence Montchanin at Carillon Crossing. The condominium apartments have been sold out and there’s a waiting list for openings.
Carillon Crossing was designed by the architectural firm, Bernardon & Associates of Kennett Square, PA, and built by NC Builders of Wilmington, DE. Interior spaces were designed by C.R. Designs of Kimberton, PA. Until October of 2001, Carillon Crossing was managed by Senior LifeChoice, LLC of Kimberton Pennsylvania.
