Vantage Point Retirement Living is proud to announce initial plans to develop a yet-to-be-named retirement community in Lewes, Delaware. The community is being developed in partnership with The Ocean Atlantic Companies, a residential and commercial real estate group headquartered in Rehoboth Beach.
The project will be located on a 16-acre property between Kings Highway and Savannah Road in Lewes and will offer residents maximum flexibility in their retirement lifestyle by offering monthly-rental agreements without large, upfront entrance fees or complicated contracts. The existing plan includes 56 independent living, 63 assisted living, and 32 memory care apartments. The community could be expanded to accommodate an additional 24 independent living apartments.
The community will offer a wide variety of apartment options, from studios to two-bedroom/two-baths. It will offer amenities such as multiple dining options, a movie theater, pub lounge, full-service salon and spa, fitness center, and more. Weekly housekeeping, 24-hour maintenance, full-time concierge, activities programs and more are included for all residents, with round-the-clock nursing and personalized wellness plans included for assisted living and memory care residents. The proposed community will also offer a full range of rehabilitation services on-site, including physical, speech, and occupational therapies.
“We believe this project fills a need in the area for people who are looking for a senior living community with multiple levels of care on one campus and like the flexibility and value of a monthly rental contract, allowing them to maintain control of their assets. When residents can retain those funds, they’re able to earn income on those hard-earned assets for themselves. We believe that provides a better financial advantage for seniors,” says Greg Stevens, President of Vantage Point Retirement Living.
In addition, rental agreements at this Lewes community will be simple. Assisted living and memory care residents pay month-to-month with only a 30-day notice required if they choose to leave. Independent Living agreements are also flexible and are based on a one year lease that is cancelable with only 60-days’ notice after the first year. “This flexibility allows residents and their families to have maximum control of how and where they choose to receive their future care,” continues Mr. Stevens. “If a person decides they’d like to move to Wilmington, or across the country for that matter, to be closer to loved ones, they can do so without worrying about how they will get their entrance fees returned, and how much will remain.”
For over twenty years, Vantage Point has specialized in creating communities for seniors that focus on quality, flexibility, and value. Vantage Point and Ocean Atlantic most recently entered the coastal marketplace in Rehoboth Beach with The Lodge at Truitt Homestead – a community of 85 independent living apartments with optional health and wellness services available.
